There are a variety of different styles, types and techniques of massage. Below the list of sessions I offer, I’ve provided a description of some of the more popular and well known types of massage being used today.


Relaxing or Swedish Massage

Relaxing Massage is a blend of swedish massage and other relaxing massage techniques.It releases tension and tiredness, stimulates circulation, gets your energy flowing, and just feels good. Through this massage, you can allow your system to rest deeply, and arise having been refreshed at the source inside you. Maneesha uses just exactly the pressure that feels great to you.

Massage deep TissueDeep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue uses deeper pressure and certain techniques to release chronic tension from muscle tissue – and helps you let go and relax. The pressure used might be different for each person – deep enough to feel really good to you, without being painful.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands on bodywork that is not massage, but brings an extremely deep rest and healing to the nervous system. Its’ aim is to release traumas to the nervous system from injury, surgeries or physical and psychological shock, and tap into the body’s innate ability to heal itself. It is especially effective for headaches, pain, and spine or neck problems.

Neuro-Muscular Therapy

Neuro-Muscular Therapy is a form of advanced deep tissue work which releases holding patterns that keep us in discomfort from muscles, fascia and connective tissue. It increases range of motion and restores the body to it’s loose and natural state. It involves long myofascial strokes and techniques like trigger point release and PNF.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial work releases restrictions in the fascia, or sheets of connective tissue which hold the muscles in place. It’s long slow strokes and restoring stretches are not painful, feel very good, and leave you feeling more loose, open, expanded, and able to move and breathe better.

hot stone massageHot Stones Massage (La Stone)

La Stone massage is a wonderful massage using hot smooth river stones, so each stroke brings pressure as well as heat into the muscles, so they melt and relax. Tension is released, and the heat benefits the body system in many ways. In tight areas, hot and cool stones will be interspersed to reduce inflammation and relax the nervous system.

In reflexology, we press and massage specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears. In the science of reflexology, these areas and reflex points correspond to different body organs and systems, and working on them has a beneficial effect on the organs and person’s general health. You can use reflexology to address a health issue, or simply to feel balanced and refreshed – and enjoy having your feet and hands thoroughly taken care of.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic Massage is light, pleasant and beneficial to health. It uses gentle quick strokes which stimulate the lymphatic system function while enhancing the immune system and assisting the interaction of the lymphatic system with the digestive, circulatory and cerebrospinal systems. It can be extremely beneficial to those who suffer from allergies, are preparing for surgery or post-op, suffer from edema, are consciously toning their bodies or just want to feel and look their very best.
